Interest Areas: International/tropical forestry monitoring protocols and other international natural resource work teaming with communication/policy skills; Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) data applications: currently wilderness monitoring; forest carbon components: including tree biomass equations, forest floor materials and understory carbon; and other biometrics issues: recently urban forest monitoring.

Current Activities
  • Pursing international project opportunities with entrepreneurial cross-disciplinary team of quantitative/forestry research and communication/policy skills.

  • Pursing monitoring study of designated wilderness as refugium of natural forest recovery from logging disturbance in eastern U.S. and from wildfire disturbance in western U.S.

  • Completing analysis of results for Lebanon reforestation planting trials.

  • Completing development of tropical forest monitoring protocol from Cambodia pilot data in close cooperation with Cambodian scientists.

  • Completing analysis of urban forest monitoring after private residential redevelopment, and developing GIS course materials from results.
