FREC Students Attend Tree Care Industry Expo

In November, FREC Associate Professor Eric Wiseman accompanied eight students to the Tree Care Industry Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Expo is hosted by the Tree Care Industry Association, a national trade association for arborists and urban foresters that promotes safe and appropriate practice of tree care. A hallmark of the expo was Student Career Day, which offered career development and networking activities that linked students with tree care industry mentors. The lead sponsor of the event was Stihl, Inc. Students were able to attend the event free of charge through financial support from corporate sponsors and the Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and Environment. Virginia Tech students attending the event included Haley Bowyer, Susannah Carter, Ali Presby, Rudy Delsack, Jake Hardaway, Scott Ramsey, Guinevere Unterbrink, and Lyndsey Weeks.
